It is self-sufficient for 85% of its energy needs, thanks to extensive photovoltaic systems and energy storage and exchange.

The plan bears the signature of Zanon Architetti Associati, which envisioned and coordinated the design by creating new spaces in total respect to the surrounding environment. The plan was exhibited at the “TAKING CARE - Designing for the Common Good” pavilion of the 2016 Architecture Biennale.
The library was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP).
The project was made possible thanks to an agreement worth over €101 million established through a Real Estate Fund managed by Finanziaria Internazionale and underwritten by Cattolica Assicurazioni, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and H-FARM.
